Discover the Lake District National Park

The Lake District is a premier UK holiday destination. It contains over sixteen lakes and numerous tarns. These waters offer many opportunities for wild swimming, rowing and sailing. You can also enjoy windsurfing, kayaking and fishing. Many visitors arrive simply to appreciate the landscape.
The region is a leading destination for hikers and climbers. Travellers visit from across the globe to explore the Lakeland fells. The area is home to Scafell Pike, which is England’s highest mountain. It reaches an elevation of 978m (3209 feet).
In 2017, the Lake District became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It earned this status for its “Outstanding Universal Value.” The National Park features impressive scenery, grand houses and formal gardens. Several attractive towns further enhance the appeal of the region.
Market towns and villages are located throughout the area. These provide excellent venues for dining and relaxation. They are ideal for a meal or a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing.
